STEP 4: SYNTHESIS: IDENTIFY POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

1	Problem solving process  -          One of the key factors that causes global warming is poor waste management. The best way to overcome this problem is by recovering energy. By recovering energy from wastes we get to reduce significant amount of CO2 emission. -          Furthermore, problem faced in this global warming issue is the waste generated has never get to disposable site. To overcome this problem the higher authorities for example, The City Council should ensure all the work are done right and all the waste collected from houses and companies are sent to disposable site. -          Next the problem faced is tropical deforestation in our world. Forest is cut down for development of cities and human activities. To overcome this problem, we will have to reduce the rate of deforestation and start replanting tress. By solving this problem in this way, we get to the amount of CO2 released to the atmosphere decreases and global warming can be reduced. -          Moreover, global warming problem arise when there is presence of fossil fuels. As example, presence of excess nitrogen in atmosphere. To overcome excess nitrogen problem, we would have to increase energy efficiency. Energy efficiency can be reduced by conserving energy. -          Besides, one of the problems faced is the recycling of waste material. Many are not sure on how to recycle waste material and still not sure on which products can be used to recycle. -          Greenhouse gases are also one of the cause of global warming. Therefore, to overcome this problem, we have to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. To reduce the gases, some factories should ensure that the factory’s smokes are clean and not polluted. So, the government should tighten the laws of  the usage of chemicals product that will produce the gases. -          This paper is part of an extensive study of secondary school students preconceived ideas about climate change.This research aims, as far as possible, to ascertain secondary school students prior knowledge of the causes and consequences of climate change.Students are aware of a large number of the consequences of climate change and prove this in both open-ended and guided questions, the increase in temperature and melting of the poles being named the most. However, they ignore the possible socio-economic problems, such as migration due to a lack of adaptability, or health problems.
2	Create New Idea  -          A new way to encourage people to recycle waste material in the right way is by providing shopping coupon discounts. Although people get money when they recycle wate material the amount they get is very low. Some people tend not to recycle waste material as the amount they get for it is very less. So, by giving shopping coupon people will be more encouraged to recycle materials as they get to use the coupons when they shop. -          Meanwhile to overcome deforestation we would like to suggest the Government organize campaigns which encourages the society to plant more tress. Reward also can be given to household that has planted large amount of tress. -          Next, to reduce usage of fossil fuels we can use renewable sources like water and air. By using renewable sources like this we can reduce the usage of non- renewable sources like fossil fuels. This helps in reducing the dependence on fuels and generate energy that produces no greenhouse emissions. -          Moreover, the peoples should be encouraged to buy second hand item and donate used goods. By practising this we don’t only get to reduce carbon footprints but also save lots of money. -          Furthermore, waste can be reduced by avoiding single used food and drink containers and utensils. Peoples can bring their reusable Tupperware when they have to buy food and drinks. They also can purchase stainless steel straw which can be used to replace plastic straw that are usually given at stalls. By replacing everything with reusable item we get to reduce the number of plastics that end up in the landfill or disposable site. -          One of the way to reduce greenhouses gases is by using a hybrid car or electrical cars which do not have to use any fuels such as Tesla car. By doing so, we can reduce carbon monoxide gas from emitting to the atmosphere and the air will be less polluted. -          We can also replace CFC gas in air conditioner and refrigerator with HCFC. This is because HCFC breaks down more easily in the atmosphere compared to CFC. So, HCFC have less ozone depletion potential,in addition to less global warming potential. -          Among the ways to ensure that high school students know more about the causes and consequences of climate change. The first is the exposure of parents from home on why climate change is happening. In addition, the exposure in schools from teachers about climate change. In addition, the authorities  publicizing climate change related issues on all platforms such as social media.
