WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING ?
· Global warming refers to the exceptionally rapid rise in the Global temperatures during the last century, attributable mostly to greenhouse gases created by mankind burning fossil fuels.
·
The
phenomena of steady increases in temperature near the earth's surface is known
as global warming. Over the last one or two centuries, this phenomena has been
noticed. The earth's climate pattern has been disrupted as a result of this
alteration. The notion of global warming, on the other hand, is divisive, but
scientists have produced evidence to support the fact that the earth's
temperature is steadily rising.
·
Between
1906 and 2005, the earth's average temperature increased by 0.6 to 0.9 degrees
Celsius (1.1 to 1.6 degrees Fahrenheit), with the pace of growth virtually
doubling in the previous 50 years. Temperatures are expected to rise even
higher.

Is Current Warming Natural?
Before
the Industrial Revolution, the climate of the Earth altered owing to natural
factors unrelated to human activities. Most of the time, fluctuations in
sunshine have caused global climate change. Tiny wobbles in Earth's orbit
changed the timing and location of sunlight falling on the planet's surface.
Variations in the Sun's output have boosted and lowered the quantity of solar
energy reaching Earth on a regular basis. Volcanic eruptions produce particles
that reflect sunlight, illuminating the earth while also lowering the
environment. Volcanic activity has also contributed to episodes of global
warming in the past by increasing greenhouse gases over millions of years.
Because the ozone layer
absorbs ultraviolet light, the stratosphere warms during solar maxima; more
ultraviolet radiation during solar peak value equals warmer temperatures. Ozone
depletion accounts for the majority of the stratospheric cooling in recent
decades, but it does not account for all of it. Increased carbon dioxide levels
in the troposphere and stratosphere work synergistically to cool the
stratosphere.
